Bitter Cacophony
A Greek chorus of accumulated maladies
Garnered over a lifetime
Scream and scratch over who gets to sing lead.
Their pitch truly sucks; harmony was never
Their strong suit, and
Bitter cacophony persists out of mutual spite.
I guess I have allergies now.
Cloudy head and scratchy throat,
Meet the other lounge-lizards in this lineup.
God, I love growing old.
Hair vanishes like spider webs in the wind, while
Ear, back, and nose hairs reproduce like horny rabbits.
