Was what I told the taxi driver
Who was going to insist I pay in F.E.C.
After speeding me to the Lido Hotel
On a rainy Saturday night in Beijing.
It was just so much easier
And generated fewer questions
Compared to where I actually
Came from, where they spoke English
And had lots of money to burn
On taxi rides to the Lido.
