純の終 (End of Innocence)
They're tearing down the Bay Bridge.
Damaged by temblors.
Lost opportunity, lost lives.
Rock-muscled upstart, made in China
mocks the old man.
Gaps in sections widen like gaps
in teeth.
Dripping, dropping artifacts into
forgetful water.
There are no more Bay Bridges,
no more maths,
no more Christmas cards --
only a desperate reaching out for
human touch.
