Year of the (Film) Horse
As much as I try to keep the nights from disappearing,
Life still escapes through my clenched teeth.
A shredded mouth guard is morning evidence of
Utter failure in this nocturnal enterprise.
My children call me differently now, and
The dentist hardly ever stops by my chair.
I would fire my barber, but I see him every morning in the mirror, and
He says he really values customer loyalty.
My Canon AE-1 sits on my file cabinet, and
Begs for some good, old fashioned film -
The kind made from horse bones.
Being Year of the Horse,
Maybe I have a future in contributing to
The field of photography
As a roll of film?
